I have used Bound Book Scanning to enable me to bring back into print books and manuscripts for which there were no useable digital files. The scans were done quickly and accurately. The number of errors were far fewer than there would have been if I had hired a typist at many times the cost. I recommend BBS without reservation.
Great job! I want to congratulate you on your great service, as it is generally hard to find this level of competence in a business! My order could have had any number of problems associated with it, as I had two books scanned, but had to send them separately, from separate addresses (one from a bookdealer, without your invoice, so it didn’t even have my name or contact info on it), a couple of weeks apart! Lol! But you got the order right, emailing both the downloads to the correct email address. The books were scanned professionally and very quickly. Thanks!
Book bound Scanning has now scanned 12 books for me. These were out of print books of which there were one to just a few copies left. I could not have been more happy with their service and highly recommend them for any type of scanning service. There provide you with lots of options and all have very reasonable and affordable pricing attached. I went with “non destructive” options and they in fact did send me my original copies back in good order in a timely manner. They scanned everything quickly and send me word and pdf files. Since I am not very organized on a couple occasions I had to write to them and say, “where did you upload/put my files again”, and I got an immediate response with the link to the files even though it was my fault I couldn’t find them again. This was even a couple months after they had been sent. They respond quickly to all requests and I highly trust them. They are making my life easier as an author and business person.
Wow, very impressive! I did the nondestructive scanning for a 456-page out-of-print hard-bound autobiography with b&w photos. Every page was beautifully captured. They also got the book jacket — cover and flaps! Honestly, quite a remarkably effective service. Three thumbs up.
I had a 400+ page manuscript typed on an old manual Smith Corona typewriter. I needed a word.doc so I could self publish my novel. I sent my manuscript to Bound Book Scanning for non-destructive book scanning. I received my Word.doc and PDF files. I was extremely satisfied with their work. The work was done quickly. Communication via email was awesome. My manuscript was returned promptly and in great shape. I will use this service again with no hesitation. I would recommend Bound Book Scanning to everyone.
I had a 186 page book that I had from my days in the Navy scanned and the work was far better than I ever would have expected. It was done in a very reasonable time and with excellent quality workmanship. I would recommend Bound Book scanning without any hesitation.-

Excellent service, I’d highly recommend – had some difficulties with Amazon and they were always keeping in communication. Once they receive the book, they provided scanning even faster than the quote in terms of expected time. I was really impressed and will definitely be using them again for more services.

This was a very smooth and efficient process with very rapid turn around and high quality results. I got three versions (Word, PDF, Kindle (extra charge for Kindle)) back in three days from the time I mailed it. They returned the manually typed manuscript after scanning. The scan quality was very good.
I have done a number of book scanning projects through this company. I have been very satisfied in every regard. I recently had a computer problem and lost some files from two years ago and within a couple of hours they sent me the files again. I thought that was extremely good customer service. I highly recommend this company.

I entrusted this firm with a very valuable 1st edition 1994 book, and did so because of Mark’s extremely professional comportment during my initial telephone conversation with him when explaining the need for careful attention via BBS’s advertised non-destructive service.
Not only did Mark expediently return my book by mail in its original pristine condition — he also sent me (free of charge) an Epub + Mobi file! In lieu, I intend to use Bound Book Scanning for all my future projects. Hands-down, BBS is the best in the business.

I’ve contracted BBS for PDF’s, eBooks and Word Docs for a few years now, and am very happy with the results. They’ve been trustworthy and always stood behind their work. They’re easy to work with and have always replied to my questions quickly. I’ll keep using them!
I was very pleased with the quality of the scan, which was accomplished on a fragile book written in 1759.
I have had books scanned with Bound Book Scanning since 2012 in three different orders. Bound Book Scanning has exemplary and responsive customer service and commitments are made on time.
The scanning quality if very high and the images and documents are conveniently transferred via Dropbox.
My first order was for non-destructive color scanning of several College and High School Yearbooks. The work was excellent and the books were returned to me in as good condition as when I shipped them.
The next two non-return orders were for gray scale scanning a large numbers of primarily technical books so I could store them digitally as an archive while not retaining the burden of physical storage.
The files produced are good reproductions and are very readable text and images on digital devices.
I highly recommend Bound Book Scanning if you are considering converting books to media whether you choose the non-destructive or non-return option.
These people are a joy to work with! I submitted a ‘rush’ job and their turnaround was faster than I even hoped. When my computer couldn’t read one of the files they sent me, they resent a file within 24 hrs. Worth every penny. Don’t waste your time shopping around–these guys are are fantastic!
The folks at Bound Book Scanning did a very good job on a multiple text scanning project. The quality of the scans (both PDF and Word) was very good, especially considering that some of the older texts were not up to current publishing standards. The turnaround time averaged nearly one book per business day.
This is a very valuable service that has allowed us to preserve a number of old, out-of-print books and to make any text suitable for e-readers.

WHAT I ASKED THEM TO DO: I first sent them a 1,200-page book (bigger than A4, small fonts) to scan via destructive scanning. The process was quick (I had the eBook within a week or so of it having arrived at their offices) and the scanning was flawless.
About 6 months later I asked them to scan another book of the same size and number of pages, and the book was in worse condition than the first (and in Portuguese). The eBook was once again perfect after they fixed a few issues with the OCR configuration!
HOW THEY DID IT: they produced a Word document, a PDF, and a Kindle format eBook as per my request. There were a few mistakes on the second book because they had selected Spanish as the language, instead of Portuguese… So a few characters weren’t recognized. However, once I emailed them and told them what had happened they immediately got to work again and produced a new version of the eBook with the right target language settings.
WOULD I USE THEM AGAIN?: absolutely yes! And I’m already putting together the list of three books that I need them to scan.
EXTRAS: they also offered to add the reference links on the books (over 2,000 references!!!) so that I could click on them on my Kindle to see the reference at the back of the book (there were over 180 pages of referenced material). I didn’t need this, but it’s nice to know that they can do it for a bit extra on top of the cost. I will definitely take them up on that offer next time I need a fully-referenced eBook produced.
Although I had read consistently “high-praise” reviews for this company, I still had a little hesitation to send a foreign book to them for OCR (with Swedish language characters) and editable Word files; reason being, it was scarce, difficult to locate, and a fairly costly book. Yet when time came for me to package and send it off, I definitely did this with confidence in Mark and the team of experts. Before the expected delivery by USPS of the package to Bound Book Scanning, I received notice that the scanning work was complete and files to soon be found in my email box. This project required a special attention to photos called “segmentation” wherein, in making the PDF, the absolute highest industry quality would be applied. It nearly doubled the project cost because of labor-intensive attention that is required for each image, and mine had over 150 B&W photos and drawings. However, the expected quality that I was told about by Mark over the phone became mine as a result. My plan now is to acquire the services of a Swedish-to-English translator and produce this as an ebook for the public in both languages. Only with the scanned file could I post for bid this project as a result of the “word count” feature in Word. I shall use the file as well to obtain US Copyright by electronic submission. Based on this fine experience with Bound Book Scanning, I recommend Bound Book Scanning to all having similar duplication and digital file needs.
BBS scanned about 40 books that we had shipped to them, with the extra pdf detailing for print on demand. The work was excellent, and the staff was very responsive to special requests. They alerted us when they found marks or other problems on pages, which was important since we are reprinting the books.
Mark and his staff have been, and continue to be as helpful as possible.
As a person with very limited technological expertise or experience in the book publishing arena, I was consistently given the information and service needed to deliver a top-flight manuscript for e-book construction.
They are great!
After receiving rights back to some of my older novels, I thought I’d just retype them. Which was taking forever and a waste of time. But I’d had so many friends who’d had problems with scanning companies, I remained hesitant. Then a writer friend told me about Bound Book Scanning. She also sent me a file they’d done for her that looked wonderful.
So, I sent them two books as a trial. One I had to send used from Amazon, because I no longer had a copy. In a surprisingly short time I received both PDF and Word files. I was so impressed with their speed, work, and price, I sent them ten more, worried because some of the pages were very yellowed from age, but again they look great.
As if that wasn’t impressive enough, caught up in a deadline the week they sent me the files for those ten books, I merely put the email in a folder and didn’t get around to downloading the files until weeks later, when I found out that the Hightail download time had expired. Time to panic. I emailed that night and asked them if they’d kept the files. First thing in the morning, I received them again.
Bound Book Scanning is, in my opinion, the best in the business and I couldn’t recommend them more highly. And do to other writers every chance I get.

I can’t say enough about their excellent, responsive customer service, high quality work, responsiveness and overall capability. You also don’t have to be local. You can ship in your books, pamphlets and other work to be scanned.
