We now offer a new sample order option. This allows you to test our services on ten pages of your book before paying for your order. Please complete the online form and print the confirmation to be included with your book shipment. If you’d like specific pages scanned, please indicate that request in the comments field. We will email you the files of the sample scan for approval. Once approved, we’ll send you a Paypal request for payment before completing the order. If you don’t approve, we’ll cancel it and ship the book(s) back to you at our expense.
How do I properly count the pages? What if my pages have text on one side only?
We count pages the same way a book does – one leaf is two pages. Turn to the back of the book and check the page number of the last page and you’re good to go. If the book has only one-sided text, it depends on whether the order is for destructive or non-destructive scanning. If the order is for non-destructive scanning, we still require payment for both sides, as our scanning process does the two facing pages at once, therefore the time and labor is the same on our end. However we will not send you blank pages, we will remove them during the final processing. For destructive orders, you can count single-sided only.
We use an advanced multi-lingual OCR process that can convert many languages except for Arabic, Farsi, and South Asian languages such as Sanskrit.

We are located in southern New York. If your book scan order is more than fifty books and you are located in NY, NJ, CT, or eastern PA, contact us to inquire if we’d be willing to pick them up.
The USPS offers discounted “Media Mail” rates which are ideal for shipping books, and are based on weight and not on size. Please refer to USPS. For valuable books, you may enclose a prepaid UPS or Fedex label for the return, as all our return shipments are done via USPS Media Mail as well.

Yes, we can complete your PDF for reprints, cleaned up and with standardized margins. We charge $30 per book for this service, to be invoiced separately. Please contact us.
Generally, 1-2 business days for destructive scanning and 4-6 business days for non-destructive scanning, from the date of receipt of your book. If you need the project sooner, please choose our rush option to have your book scan completed within 24 hours. Rush orders are limited to three books and are guaranteed. Occasionally, we do get backed up and our turn times increase so if your project is a rush either choose the rush fee or contact us to confirm before placing the order.
Our equipment can accommodate books of different sizes, thicknesses, types of bindings and is especially suitable for fragile and old books.
Non-Destructive Scanning: Maximum page size: 11″W x 14″H, Maximum book thickness: 4.5 inches. Destructive Scanning: Maximum page size: 12″W x 160″ H.
We have the same equipment that is being use in libraries, universities, and museums around the world. Unlike conventional flatbed scanners that cause damage to books as a result of applying force in an attempt to flatten pages, our scanning is performed with minimal handling and without laying books out flat and applying force to bindings. Basically, if your book can be opened without damage, it can be scanned without damage using our non-destructive option.
We will return your book (non-destructive only unless specifically requested) by USPS mail upon your confirmation of acceptance and approval of our scan.
